About Nick Foot

Nick's love of sculpture began at an early age. Born in 1969 he studied ceramics at school, making miniatures and figurative works.
His passion for sculpting never left and over the years he continued to sculpt for pleasure. Nick turned his creativity and artistic eye to a career creating beautiful gardens and landscapes for many private estates.
Today he draws inspiration for much of his work from the natural environment he has spent decades observing and
follows the sculptural tradition of representing the beauty of the human form with his figurative work.
His work is often finished in white or buff stoneware clay, high fired and glazed by his ceramicist wife Claire. The glazes she has developed are beautiful, tactile and weatherproof, in colours ranging from verdigris to intense reds and oranges.
Other sculptures have been cast in bronze and iron resin such as ‘Fluffy’ the juvenile red kite that spent the summer of 2018 living in Nick's garden. Fluffy is sculpted perched on an antique garden fork, as he often did during his stay.
Nick's figurative work resides in many country gardens around Oxfordshire and is regularly exhibited in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
